  
AMS Standard Soil Augers have heat-treated, high carbon steel bits with tungsten carbide hard-surfaced edges. The bits are welded to a stainless steel cylinder, topped with a carbon steel ball. All AMS Standard Augers have a rust inhibitive plastic coating, which should be removed before use.
